When two players are tied and one player has a shot at winning the whole pot. For example, one player has AK of clubs and the other player has AK of diamonds. If there are two clubs on the flop, the player holding the AK of clubs is freerolling. If the club does not come, the pot is split. A freeroll is also a tournament in which there is not buy-in.
